About Dr James Chmiel

An established physician with more than 15 years of experience and training, Dr. James Frank Chmiel is an ear, nose, and throat specialist who offers quality care to patients throughout the Buffalo-Niagara Falls area. He also provides extensive leadership and support for the Ambulatory Surgery Center of Western New York (ASC) in Amherst, New York. Owned and operated by physicians since its establishment in October 1999, the ASC offers multiple specialties of surgery that can be performed at the clinic without requiring an overnight visit to the hospital. Among the fields the ASC and Dr. James Chmiel offer surgical procedures in are podiatry, pain management, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, orthopedics, and ophthalmology.

Furthermore, with Gregg L. Zimmer, MD, Dr. James Chmiel provides otolaryngological services at Amherst ENT LLC in the Northwoods Medical Center. In particular, the conditions the doctors treat include nasal and sinus disorders, hearing loss, snoring and sleep apnea, vocal disorders, and balance problems.

Alongside his private practice work, Dr. James Chmiel carries appointments with the Kaleida Health Hospital System and Catholic Health System. Furthermore, he serves as a Manager and Member of ENT On-Call Specialists, LLC. He has also held a faculty appointment in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University at Buffalo (SUNY) School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. A graduate of Franklin & Marshall College with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, Dr. Chmiel earned his medical degree from the University at Buffalo (SUNY) and trained at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
